AP Macroeconomics

AP Macroeconomics Course Description:

Length/Credits: 1 semester – 1 credit
Open to: Grades  11, 12
Prerequisite: None

The AP Macroeconomics course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to functions of individual decision makers, both consumers and producers, within the larger economic system.

It places primary emphasis on the nature and functions of markets, and includes the study of factor markets and the role of government in promoting greater efficiency and equity in the economy.

Topics covered will include basic economic concepts, the nature and functions of product markets, factor markets, and efficiency, equity, and the role of government.

This course will provide the student with learning experience equivalent to that obtained in most college introductory to macroeconomics courses.

This course will prepare students to take the Advanced Placement Microeconomics Examination offered in the Spring.
