Physics I 1-2 Course Description:

Length/Credits: 2 semesters –2 credits
Open to: Grades 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Algebra II (can be taken concurrently)

Physics I aids students in synthesizing the fundamental concepts and principles of matter and energy through a laboratory-based conceptual approach.

Topics include mechanics, wave motion, sound, light, electricity, magnetism and atomic physics.

Students have opportunities to: (1) acquire an awareness of the history of physics and its role in the birth of technology, (2) explore the uses of physics models, theories and laws in various careers and (3) cope with physics questions and problems related to personal needs and social issues.
