Algebra II

Algebra II Course Description:

Length/Credits: 2 semesters – 2 credits
Open to: Grades 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: Algebra I (Students are required to purchase a calculator for this course.)

Algebra II expands on the topics of Algebra I and provides further development of the concept of function. The expanded topics of the course include:

  1. The theorems and algorithms of algebra
  2. Polynomials and polynomial functions
  3. Rational exponents
  4. The complex numbers
  5. Sequences and series
  6. The properties and graphs of conic sections
  7. Exponential and logarithmic functions
  8. The counting principles and probability

(Successful completion of Algebra II is a requirement for the Core 40 regular diploma.)
