AP English Literature Course Description:
Length/Credits: 2 semesters/2 credits
Open to: Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: None
AP English Literature and Composition is a course that follows the College Board Entrance Examination guidelines for Advanced Placement English. Student will be expected to read challenging works from a variety of authors, ranging from Chaucer and Shakespeare to Woolf and Conrad.
Although the literature base for the course draws primarily from British tradition, students will study writers from various cultures. Writing assignments will be frequent, including both reflective and analytical responses to literature.
Students will be expected to participate in online course discussions. Students will make sure of the technological resources both in researching and in producing their papers.
