English Composition

Dual Credit English Composition Course Description:

Length/Credits: 1 semester – 1 High School Credit / 3 Vincennes College Credits
Open to: Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: SAT Score 420 (comprehension) / 440 writing or Accuplacer score of 89

Designed to help students develop their ability to think, to organize, and to express their ideas as clearly and effectively. Emphasis is placed on the various forms of expository writing such as process, description, narration, comparison, analysis, persuasion, and argumentation. Numerous in-class writing assignments are required in addition to extended essays.

The corresponding high school credit can be: English 11-1, English 11-2, English 12-1, or English 12-2.
