Dual Credit Art 110 (Art Appreciation) Course Description:

Length/Credits: 1 semester – 1 High School Credit / 3 Vincennes College Credits
Open to: Grades 11, 12
Prerequisite: Students must have a 3.0 and their counselor's approval to Achieve Virtual's office.

An introductory lecture course in art which explores the creative history and processes for making art that have been utilized by humankind across cultures, from the pre-historic through the modern era. Students are introduced to specific traditional and contemporary media for communication and expression. The course utilizes a variety of pedagogical techniques for the study of art that includes viewing projected images and observing actual artworks in the gallery or museum setting.
